After years of family holidays at idyllic Onemana Beach, there was never any question for Auckland business woman Angela Fahey on where her own holiday home had to be.

For Angela, Onemana is a haven from her hectic Auckland life: “It is my saviour. I run a busy business, so it is soul food. Walking along the beach rejuvenates me, and I love seeing my kids and their mates out in the ocean having fun.”
Angela’s happy place is a modern two-storey holiday cabin, with three bedrooms, one bathroom and a full kitchen. The open plan living oozes bright beach holiday style with big windows, ranch sliders and a balcony overlooking the town of Onemana. The beach is close by, there are scenic walks, tennis courts and a children’s playground at hand, and it’s only another 10 minutes by car to Whangamata.
Operating the bach as a holiday home rental has always been part of Angela’s plan. That isn’t just for the benefit of earning an income from her property, she says, but also the importance of regular occupancy and upkeep.
